Kam's approach is rooted in two core beliefs: therapy should be something you actually look forward to — and it should give you a real, collaborative space to work through the changes you want to make in your life. Not just symptom management. Not just coping. Real work, in a room where you don't have to explain yourself first.
About Kam
Kam is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California, and the founder of New Leaf Therapy. He specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, college-aged students, and young adults navigating identity, relationships, and mental health — and his practice is affirming of all gender identities and expressions.
His work includes supportive care for people exploring polyamory, recovering from religious trauma, and working through anxiety, self-worth issues, and major life transitions. Whether you're seeking gender-affirming therapy, processing past experiences, or working toward greater authenticity, Kam offers a space that's genuinely safe to do that — not just safe on paper.
His approach is collaborative and direct. He shows up as an active partner in the work, not a passive presence — and sessions tend to feel like a real conversation rather than a clinical intake that never ends.
"Therapy should be something you actually look forward to — not something you white knuckle your way through."
— Kameron Kaveh, LMFT · Founder, New Leaf Therapy
How Kam Works
Kam draws from several evidence-based modalities, weaving them together based on what actually works for each individual — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
CBT
Helping you identify and shift thought patterns that no longer serve you — practical tools you can actually use between sessions.
DBT
Building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness — especially useful for navigating intense feelings or past trauma.
PERSON-CENTERED
You know yourself better than anyone. Kam's role is to reflect, challenge, and support — not prescribe. You drive the direction of your own growth.
CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE
Your background, community, and identity aren't footnotes — they're central to understanding your experience and tailoring your care.
